Home Depot Pendant Lights

Home Depot recently opened up in the small town of Lodi that I live in and I couldn't be more excited! Until now our only home improvement stores were Lowes and Orchard Supply Hardware, so it's nice to have another option available without having to leave town. I was trolling the lighting aisles recently at the new store and was pleasantly surprised by the number of stylish pendant lights they had available!

Upon taking a closer look I realized that all of the specific fixtures that caught my attention are from the Home Decorators Collection. Most pendant lights are under $100, which is my favorite part of all. They have a ton of industrial-chic looking fixtures, which is so on-trend right now. Take a look at a few of my favorites;

And check it out, Home Depot also has industrial style, vintage bulbs available as well;

So what do you think, do you love these affordable lighting options as much as I do? I think it's great that you can now find such stylish lighting options in almost every town in America! Way to go Home Depot :)

Quicky

I took my own advise from yesterday on decorating with ornaments and fancied up my dining room chandelier. I used turquoise, lime green and silver ornaments (which coordinate with my tree) and hung them using fishing line. The shiny ornaments add just enough sparkle and holiday cheer to the space!

How is your holiday decorating coming along? I'm hosting Christmas this year (which is a first!) so I am trying to get every inch of the house feeling festive! I'll share more of my projects with you in the coming weeks before Christmas. . . Can you believe we're only 18 days away?! Eeeek!

Library Lights

I am loving the use of simple and traditional library lights installed in unexpected places. This chic and semi-industrial look seems to be popping up everywhere!

Circa Lighting sells these fixtures in an array of finishes. Black just so happens to be my favorite!

Here is a more affordable option, available from several different online retailers. You can also find this same fixture at Lowes!

What do you think of these uber-popular library lights? Would you put them in your home?

Happy Friday!

Is it sizzling hot where you are?! It sure is here. . . I'll be running some errands today and then hitting the pool, that's for sure! Today I have a special guest stopping by to talk about two of my favorite things - LIGHTING and COLOR!

----------

On the streets and runways we're seeing hot hues as a big trend in fashion. Neons and color blocking trends are putting the focus on color this summer. Summer is definitely the season for all things hot so we wanted to bring you some ways you can dress up your home in hot hues. Enjoy!

The hot hue of orange walls really pops against the pure white of the paneling, pendant light, chairs and accessories. It's also nicely complemented by blue-gray chair upholstery. Orange and blue appear opposite each other on the color wheel and can be used as contrasting or complementary colors.

These colored pencils demonstrate where each color falls on the color wheel. The hot hues include the pinks, reds, oranges and yellows. Cool colors would be blues, purples and greens.

Red in the bedroom doesn't have to mean the room should be overpowering. A deep red velvet headboard and hot pink striped curtains hit the right notes in this sophisticated bedroom. Add a silver or black light fixture in the middle of the room to complement the boldness of the red.

Pinks, oranges and hints of yellow dress up this bedroom. The white balances all the hot hues and gives the eye a break. Such a lovely wallpaper!

No hue is hotter than hot pink right now. This color is not only popular in the fashion world but used in the right way, can dress up a room, wall or chair in your home. This formal foyer is all dressed up with pink walls and one of our favorite light fixtures, a crystal chandelier

Hot hues like red, hot pink, orange and yellow can be intense. Used as an accent, like these yellow drapes and pink and yellow pillows, can add impact without overwhelming the space.

Hot hues can bring an international design to a space. This room's palette of reds, pinks and oranges recalls Indian saris or Thai silks.

Hot hues, for instance orange and yellow, work well with the warm browns of modern style furniture and décor. Pops of yellowy green add contrast but keep the room's palette on the warm side of the color wheel.

New Chandy!

Yesterday I mentioned it was my birthday. . . Guess what my honey got for me?!

A new chandelier for our dining area. Whohoo!!! I have been living with a u-g-l-y fixture since we bought the house over two years ago so an upgrade has been long over do.

This chandy was a steal of a deal over at Overstock and I have been eying it for a while. I am loving the subtle glam factor it is going to add to the space! Now I just can't wait to get it up. . .

Turquoise Lamp Obsession

I find myself constantly incorporating turquoise lamps into design plans when working on a new project. There is just something so classic, yet so modern about the turquoise lamp and it works well in almost any style of interior. I love them in all shapes, sizes and materials, but ceramic and gourd-shaped happen to be my fave! Take a look at a few spaces incorporating this coveted trend;

Want to know a secret?! I like to hunt for lamps at HomeGoods, TJMaxx and Marshalls. Their prices typically range between $20 - $80 and they have large selections of stylish lighting options! Here's a glimpse at the lamp isle at HomeGoods. I'm like a kid in a candy store every I see all those delicious colored lamps!!!
