via Pawleys Island Posh
Can you believe that this gorgeous sunburt mirror featured above is available at Home Depot? AND can you believe it's costs only $34.97?!

30" Diameter Wales Metal Antique Gold Framed Mirror
As you probably already know I am a huge fan of sunburst mirrors. Nine times out of ten when someone asks me "What do you think I should hang on this wall?" my answer is "a sunburst mirror!". They look great hanging above a sofa, in a dining room over a buffet, hanging over a bed, in an entry, wherever! Sunburst mirrors really are one of my favorite decorating accessory. Take a peak at a couple other interiors featuring these gold beauties;

Ceramic Garden Stools

Ceramic garden stools are every where these days, but have been a staple in home decor for quite some time. There's no denying their popularity indoors and out. I just love that these compact pieces are so versatile! You can use them as an end table, extra seating, as a portable accent table or simply just as decoration.

What's great about these little guys are that they fit in right at home with all different design styles and in any room of the home. They are literally like the perfect accessory! (Or is it a piece of furniture? Depends on how you look at it and how it's used, I guess!)

Imagine my excitement yesterday when I was perusing the isles of bargain furniture and accessories at Ross and I spotted an entire section of ceramic garden stools!

Most of these stools were priced at $39.99 and $49.99. They had a variety of colors and styles to choose from too. But heck, at these prices, you could always take a can of glossy colored spray paint to one and paint it any color you wish! I was praticularly found of this purple garden stool, below.

They even had a couple of the uber-trendy elephant shaped ceramic garden stools. These were reasonably priced at $69.99.

This white one below reminds me of this stool available at Horchow for $200!

It was like I had died and gone to ceramic stool heaven! My head was spinning with excitement over these awesome deals! Have you found any great bargains on home decor items lately? Tell me I'm not the only one who gets this crazy excited over stuff like this. . .    :)

Look for Less Fabric!

I spotted this find over at Decorpad and just thought I would share it with ya'll! I have been a long time fan of Windsor Smith's Riad fabric;

But as we all know, designer fabric isn't cheap. .  .

Yep, you read it right. . . $16.95/yard! Best deal I've heard about all week!

Where would you use this gorgeous fabric?! On pillows? To upholster a chair? Drapery panels? Decisions, decisions!

Deal of the day

I spotted this white ceramic gourd lamp at Home Depot, of all places, today. I love the curvy shape and the crisp and clean white linen drum shade, but the price tag is really what caught my eye! At $28.99, I'll take two please!

Bargain Hunting at Ross

While perusing the isles of Ross earlier today I spotted a large abstract painting on a canvas that stopped me dead in my tracks! It was huge (about 42" x 42"), filled with tons of color and was priced pretty reasonably at $39.99.

I think this affordable artwork would look great in a living room placed above a neutral colored upholstered sofa! So great in fact, I put together an example. . .

Doesn't the cheap-o abstract art look great with the neutral colored sofa, dainty brass end tables and glass gourd lamps?! Also, the purple pillows add an extra punch of color that rounds out the space. (Ok, it's only half of a room, it still need side chairs, a rug and a coffee table to be complete. . . but you get the picture!)

This is just another example of why I typically suggest selecting neutral colored furnishings for your big ticket items (sofa, end tables, etc.)  Then you can pop in some color through your art, pillows and accessories. If you get tired of the space you can always switch things out to create a fresh new look without spending a ton of money!

Deal of the Century

I'm helping my sister shop for a new sofa and I came across a find I just HAD to share. Check out this slipcovered sofa from JCPenny;

It's originally $999 but is currently on sale for $399!!! Ok, maybe it's not the 'deal of the century' but it is a really awesome price for such a great sofa.

Lets face it, the sofa is the biggest and most expensive piece of furniture in most living rooms. I think going with a neutral colored upholstery is the best way to ensure that you are going to love your investment for a long time. Also, a neutral sofa just like this one will mix well with a plethora of different styles and color schemes. And to top it off, the slipcovers are removable and washable. Could it get any better?!

Fabric Find

Like I mentioned in this post, there are several projects I want to get done around my house in the new year. Due to the fact that every spare penny I can find (in my wallet, in my bank account, on the ground, wherever) I am saving for my wedding coming up late this summer, I don't have a lot of dinero to put towards projects around mi casa. . . But where there is a will, there is a way! I am determined to check a few things off my to-do in the next couple of months and am going to do it on a major budget!

Imagine my delight when I spotted this at my favorite discount fabric store today!

I purchased a couple yards and then reserved the remainder of the bolt as well (just because it gives me peace of mind!) I'm not sure if I will make a valance for my kitchen out of it, or possibly pillows for my living room sofa. We shall see!

Here's a few projects other bloggers have completed with this same fabric. (By the way it's Wavery Cross Section and it's available here for a great price but I was able to snag it for an even cheaper price!)
