What caught my eye. . .

. . . in the latest issue of Lonny was the paint color in this bathroom!

It's Benjamin Moore Calypso Blue. Isn't it stunning?! I love this deep, saturated hue of turquoise. Since this space is flooded with natural light it really works well, don't you think?

Like I mentioned in this post, there are several projects I want to get done around my house in the new year. Due to the fact that every spare penny I can find (in my wallet, in my bank account, on the ground, wherever) I am saving for my wedding coming up late this summer, I don't have a lot of dinero to put towards projects around mi casa. . . But where there is a will, there is a way! I am determined to check a few things off my to-do in the next couple of months and am going to do it on a major budget!

Imagine my delight when I spotted this at my favorite discount fabric store today!

I purchased a couple yards and then reserved the remainder of the bolt as well (just because it gives me peace of mind!) I'm not sure if I will make a valance for my kitchen out of it, or possibly pillows for my living room sofa. We shall see!

Decorating a Nursery

Believe it or not, I've never had the pleasure of designing or decorating a nursery. (It's the only room in a home that I have yet to tackle. . . ) I think that might change in 2011 though. NO, I'm not pregnant, I just have several friends and family members that are expecting or considering starting new families. Children's rooms are so fun because you can pull out all the stops, let your imagination take over and run with it. While I love whimsical nurseries or childrens rooms, I am really drawn to spaces that combine elements of whimsy with sophistication. Oh, and a healthy dose of color is always good too ;) Check out these stylish nurseries;

Succulents are taking over the world of wedding flowers (although technically they aren't even a flower!) I have been a long time fan of succulents and personally I LOVE this wedding trend! These hardy plants are not only eco friendly but are beautifully shaped and come in a dazzling array of soft colors. Used in bouquets or boutonnieres they look modern and elegant.
