Daily Dose of Insight

Restlessness is agitation. It is the opposite of a quiet mind. It makes the mind unsteady, and we feel in turmoil, like water whipped by the wind. When you can, you greatly help your practice by persevering in your commitment to sit and by refraining from jumping up to write something down, to switch the alarm clock on or the telephone off, or to leap onto whatever train of thought arrives to entice you into leaving your meditation.
