Double Take

I saw this room featured on The Decorista today and I had to do a double take!

This space looked SO familiar to me but I couldn't figure out why. And then I realized. . .

Is it me, or is this the same room?! Looks like  Windsor Smith must have done a little redecorating in her own home! Which look do you like better?

Guessing Game

It's the Jacqui 3-Drawer Side Table from Bungalow 5, and it is a personal favorite of mine! I just adore those antiqued gold drawer pulls!

I live in a 1950's house in Lodi with my husband, step son and step daughter, and have slowly been remodeling and decorating it since we purchased the home in 2009. As a child and teenager I dreamed of becoming an architect but soon realized after a few semesters of college that interiors were my passion. I majored in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles and worked as the Executive Assistant to Madeline Stuart while living in L.A. In 2006 I moved back to Northern California where I worked as a Project Manager for an interior design firm in Modesto. In 2008 I started my own business, JPM Design.

Like I mentioned on Saturday, I had the opportunity this weekend to kick back and relax with a stack of magazines (as well as a boat load of online magazines) that needed to be read! They seem to pile up quicker than I can keep up these days! This image from this months issue of Elle Decor is breathtaking, don't you think?! So rustic, yet so chic and glamorous but comfortable all at the same time.

Honeysuckle!

Yesterday Pantone announced the color of the year for 2011. The new hue that will be popping up all over the fashion runways, wedding isles, and in home decor is called 'honeysuckle'. It's a gorgeous shade of reddish pink that is supposed to encourage and uplift your spirits, while being captivating and stimulating. Get ready to see it everywhere from wall paint to nail polish!

The powder room or guest bathroom is the GREATEST place you could choose in your home to apply a bold, graphic wallpaper! Typically, it's the smallest room in a home, so most people aren't inclined to take such a daring chance. But believe me, you can't go wrong. The bigger, the bolder, the better!
