Wedding Wednesday!
Check out these "chair jackets" that cover the backs of the chairs for a ceremony or reception. They are a great alternative to those standard chair covers, and are a great way to infuse more pattern and color into your big event! Great for just the bride and groom's seats, or they can even be used for an entire reception. They are available through BBJ Linens, but I think they would make a great DIY project as well!

Lofty Appeal
Here's some photos of a loft that was featured a while back on Apartment Therapy. I have always dreamed of living in a loft someday and can totally see myself settling into an abode quite like this one (in my dreams!) I love the floor to ceiling drapes, retro lighting, massive built ins, acrylic furniture, geometric wall treatment and funky fabrics!

Featured Designer; Angie Hranowsky
Have you ever stumbled upon a designer whom you are not familiar with, and realize upon perusing their website that you already have half of their portfolio saved in your inspiration files? Well, that's what happened to me recently when I realized Angie Hranowsky was the designer behind some of these rooms
that I have been drooling over for months! I just didn't have a name and face to go with them until now. After spending quite some time scrolling through her website and portfolio I must say, I had to wipe the drool off my face a few times! I love, love, love her work and feel like her design style and taste closely resembles my own! As a (newbie) designer I find myself drawn to so many different styles that it's hard to pin point and define my own personal "look". Well, the work of Angie Hranowsky is as close as I think I have come! I love her playful use of bold colors, clean lines and mixture of vintage and new pieces. Her style is fresh and modern, but casual at the same time.

For more on Angie Hranowsky, check out her website, and you will find that she is not only an amazing interior designer but also established in the graphic design business. This girl has major talent!
I originally spotted this image last week on Strictly Simple Style. The use of orange and turquoise is what drew me in but that coffee table is what had me hooked!
One of my favorite color combos, orange and pink, is used here. The soft lavender walls and sparatic use of gold tie all the elements in this room together!
Any room utilizing bamboo shades, the color turquoise and an orchid is always going to capture my attention!
I've seen images of this bedroom several times, but never from this angle! Words can not express how much I love the blue chandelier and bamboo (Louis XVI resembling?) chair!
Here, Angie (we're on a first name basis now ;) displays her ability to play with patterns. The rich black panels and stark white mantel are what ground the room. I also LOVE that Moroccan side table!
The styling displayed here is practically perfect in my book!
I love the mix of the modern parsons console with the the traditional black shades and upholstered bench seen here.
I'd kill for this suzanni quilt! Although, I would probably be more inclined to hang in on a wall. It is beautiful when paired with the traditional furnishings and pale aqua walls in this stunning bedroom.
I love all the traditional elements in this room and the white bamboo chairs. I particularly am drawn to that painting over the buffet. The colors in it seem to be what inspired this entire room!
This is Angie's own living room. There are so many elements that I love here! It's casual but fresh and funky at the same time! That magenta sofa is my favorite element in the room.
I originally blogged about the Coastal Living's Idea House back in September. I fell in love with this entire house only to find out later that it was the work of Angie Hranowsky! What a coincidence ;)
The bold use of pattern in these drapes are complimented by the rich wood tones and blue-gray walls in this stunning dining room.
Love, love, love this nursery! Again, modern meets traditional with a bold colors and clean lines. I particularly love the turquoise banding on the parsons chair. I think tiny little detail is what makes the room!
I love the contrast used here with the white furniture and chocolate brown walls.
Capiz chandelier, painted rattan klismos chairs and punches of pink, what girl wouldn't fall in love with this dining room?!

Room of the day

I'm loving the moody plum painted wainscoting, upholstered settee, painted chairs and crystal chandelier. The draped table makes this space more casual, but with a traditional, formal feel to it. Beautiful.

Arco Floor Lamp
Originally designed in 1962 by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, the Arco Lamp is one of the classics of modern lighting design. The design of the lamp was originally inspired by a streetlight and is innovative in that is provides overhead lighting without requiring ceiling suspension. You can find the Arco lamp available through Design Within Reach for $2,696, or there are many reproductions available ranging from $200 and up.
I scored one of the knock offs at a consignment store a few years back. While it's not as tall as the actual Arco lamp (which is eight feet tall) it was a steel of a deal for only $40! Since then, I have dragged it from apartment to apartment, house to house (I have moved SEVERAL times in the last five years) and it has come with me everywhere. I absolutely LOVE this lamp. Although it's only a replica of the original, it makes me feel like I have a little slice of mid-century modern history living in my home (Based on the wiring and the base of the lamp, I am pretty sure it dates back to the seventies.) But there is only one problem. . .
Every room mate/boyfriend/house guest/etc. that I have had since I obtained this super cool lamp has absolutely hated it!!! I have moved it around in several positions, ranging from over the coffee table, over a dining table, even in a corner in a room that didn't get used that often, and no matter where I put it, it seems it's always in the way! If it's not falling over and crashing on the floor, someone is bumping their head on it or something! Although I absolutely love this lamp and can tolerate the occasional knot of the forehead from it, I have to admit that one time while watching a really funny movie, I did some sort of crazy jumping up off the couch move while throwing my head back, only to bust my upper lip on the metal of the lamp. Blood was everywhere. It was quite humorous! Even after that, I still insisted on keeping the lamp.
After the last move I made (into a super tiny house) I finally was convinced that the lamp needed to go into storage. . . So for now I can't enjoy my super cool lamp, but someday I will find a home for it in my house! (Even if I have to suffer an occasional accident or two with the metal monstrosity!)
Check out some of these interiors that have Arco floor lamps. I wonder if the people who live here ever busted a lip on the damn thing?!

It's been a long day at the office. . .
I would really LOVE to go home and relax in the tub with a glass of wine, some candles, you get the picture. If only my bathroom looked like this. . .
. . . and if only I didn't have five trillion things to do when I get home in order to get ready for Halloween weekend! Oh well, relaxing will have to wait until I can find the time! (Whenever that will be?!)
