Wedding Wednesday!

These boots were made for walkin. . . down the aisle that is! From the cowboy boots to the wildflower bouquets to the hay bales used for guest seating, this wedding screams country! Isn't every last detail just plain adorable?!?! It's down home, playful, and colorful, and I just plain love it!

Coastal Living's 2009 Idea Cottage

I stumbled upon Coastal Living's 2009 "Idea Cottage" and immediately fell in love with it! It is located in the I'on community of Charleston, South Carolina and is a prime example on how to live large in a compact space, using eco-friendly construction. For more information on all the details, and to watch video tours of the house, head over to Coastal Living's website! Here's a quick peak;

Crazy for Thomas Paul!

I have seen his designs everywhere (probably because he's been featured in like a gazillion magazines) but until now, I didn't know who the man was behind these fresh, funky and brilliant designs!

Thomas Paul (don't you just love a guy with two first names?!) started out in the NYC fashion scene back in the 90's creating silk neckware and scarves for DKNY, Calvin Klein & more. In 2001 he launched his pillow collection. Now you can find his patterns gracing every aspect of the home including pillows, rugs, art, fabric, lighting, stationary, table linens, plates, totes, pouches and more. All of his products can be found at velocityartanddesign.com. You can also find some of his great home products here and here . Here's a look at a few of my favorite designs;

September 21st

It's officially the last day of summer and today I picked the very last blossom in my yard. I was saving it just for today! We inherited a bazillion rose bushes when we moved into our new home. While the boy has proceeded to rip some of them out already, I have managed to convince him to keep a few. Granted, I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of rose bushes, they are so thorny and oddly shaped, etc., but the second I saw them start to bloom I fell in love! All summer I was fortunate enough to have bouquets of flowers adorning my dining table, bathroom counter, living room end tables, etc. We have a large variety too; pink, white, red, purple, yellow, and even a very unique rose that I am not able to identify (I've done a little bit of research online but am still unable to figure out what type of rose it is.) Nonetheless, it is soooo beautiful with its pink tips, yellow undertones, and white petals. Awwww, if only I could enjoy these pretties all year round! Oh well, I am already looking forward to spring and seeing my favorite blooms pop up again!

Anthropologie Hardware

Ok, so we all know Anthropology has some great stuff. Let me rephrase that, they have some amazing stuff. From the clothes to the the jewelry to the furniture to the home decor and accessories, I love it all! But until now, I didn't realize they also carried an amazing collection of hardware! I honestly fell in love with every knob and pull and wish I had a place for each and every one! Also, their switch plates, doorknobs and hooks are to die for as well. I'll take one of each! Here's some of my favorites;

DIY Wedding Bouquet

image from designspongeonline.com

This post from Design Sponge is a great how-to on making your own wedding bouquet. This is something that may not be for everyone, but is a good way to save money and add your own personal touch to your wedding day. Or of course, you could always hire ME to do it for you ;)

Steal the look!

Ok, so after posting the "Image of the day" earlier I kept thinking to myself, "WOW, I really love this room! How can I use this as inspiration for a potential client?!" Well I did some shopping online to source out all the products, put together this little mood board, and badabing-badaboom, an hour later I have my very first "Steal the Look" post to show you all! (I know, it is very "Suzie-from-Decorpad" OR "Sherry-from-Young-House-Love" -ish of me! I can't help it, those girls are rad and I envy their creativity and knowledge of decor!) Anyhow, here's how to achieve this look;

moreplatformbeds.com - Light Maple Platform Bed - $147.60
Ikea - Duvet Cover & Pillow Shams - $59.99
Sears - Pink Memory Foam Pillow - $49.99 (x 2)
pillowsandthrows.com - Marimekko Pieni Unikko Pillow - $37.00
homedecorators.com - Sologna Side Table - $229.00 (x 2)
lightingdirect.com - Martha Stewart Swing Arm Lamp - $169.15 (x2)
homedecorators.com - Glitzy Area Rug 5x8 - $229.00
overstock.com - Garrick Mesh Side Chairs - $129.99
Frames - Ikea - Ribba Frames (Various sizes and shapes available)

Total Cost $1,498.87
(excluding art & frames, as well as any taxes or shipping charges)

This just goes to show you that great design doesn't have to cost a lot!

Loving the shag rug, bertoia chairs, platform bed, photo gallery above the bed, wall mounted lighting, and traditional dark wood nightstands. Oh, and you can't forget about that fabulous pink, black and white throw pillow that pops! Love it!
